Chiron went in to the sign of Aries on the 18th of April 2018. It doesn’t have a fixed duration in how long it stays in one sign as its orbit is irregular. Here in Aries, it’s for about 8-9 years.

It will go into the sign of Taurus on 20 June 2026 but will retrograde on 4 August 2026 in Taurus, back into Aries on 18 September 2026 up till 6 January 2027. It will then re-enter the sign of Taurus only on 15 April 2027.

What is Chiron?

Chiron isn’t a planet. It’s considered both a comet and an asteroid. In astrology it’s widely known as the ‘wounded healer’. Of eternal wounding and where you are constantly seeking to ‘heal’ the house and sign of which you have Chiron in.

It is often linked to wounds that we came here with from past lives, or what we want to work on in this life. It will never be fully healed even if you work on it throughout this life, as it’s an ‘eternal’ wound. What we can do however is to acknowledge what type of wound we have, and not get too triggered when an event or situation of a similar nuance happens. It helps by acknowledging and then addressing it in a more appropriate manner. Little by little, by doing this, we’re healing our own wounds.

Aries Qualities

A fire and cardinal sign. Go getter type that asserts oneself with confidence. Ability to inspire movement in others, able to take charge. Not one to back down from an argument, usually not a follower but a leader. May however be prone to anger. May also do things or react first, and think after. Focused and does what one sets one’s mind to. Doesn’t dilly-dally but gets to it and gets it done.

How about Chiron in Aries?

Chiron being in Aries talks about wounding related to one’s self.

Feels wounded as if a liability, overcompensates with self-assertion. Feels inadequate, relying on and resenting others. Thus relying on one’s own overpowering force to mask the pain and doubts about oneself.

There are two ways in which Chiron in Aries can express its qualities. One is when the native is more ‘Libra’ in nature, while the other is when the native overcompensates for the lack of Aries’ qualities and overpowers with too much ‘Aries’ in nature.

‘Aries’ Nature

Often coming into this life overcompensating in every way possible, just to appear confident and ‘able’.

  1. Overpowering Confidence
Overcompensates insecurity by coming across too strong, too bold, too reckless.
  2. Overpowering Leadership Qualities
Overcompensates by boasting and talking big about leadership roles, often devaluing supportive roles and people
  3. Asserting Oneself Without Sensitivity
Has too much ego and forces one’s way on everything and everyone around the native
  4. Taking Charge and Being Active but Unsure
Feels very confident taking charge but has no ability to be a leader, often making decisions that followers don’t agree with.
  5. Hyper-Independent
Not wanting to ask for support, convinced one must do it alone

‘Libra’ Nature

Often coming in to this life feeling inadequate to voice one’s opinion, lack in sense of self and accommodates to everything and everyone else.

  1. Lack in Confidence
May feel inadequate in one’s own body. This may be appearance or skillsets. This may even be the way in which you think others see you, often feeling like one is not enough and finds comfort in another.
  2. Lack of Leadership Quality
May feel as though one doesn’t have any leadership qualities and would rather be in supportive roles.
  3. Not asserting oneself
May feel a lack in trying to assert one’s own power, often overpowered by others.
  4. Not taking charge of things and being passive
May feel uncomfortable taking charge, rather sit by the sidelines or be a follower.
  5. Lack of Independence
    Constantly seeking another for support
