A Partial Solar Eclipse, new moon, will be happening in the sign of Virgo. On 22nd September, 3:54am, at 29 degrees, 5 minutes. This is the second new moon in the sign of Virgo this year alone. Being at 29 degrees, a critical degree, it’s going to speak a lot about Virgo energies in our lives.
Affected Signs/Placements
This is extremely important for the mutable and cardinal signs. Especially if you have placements in Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces between 26 to 29 degrees. Or in Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn between 0 to 2 degrees. This is also beneficial for the earth and air signs. Especially in Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn between 26 to 29 degrees. Or in Gemini, Libra and Aquarius between 0 to 2 degrees.
For Virgo, Gemini, Libra and Capricorn placements, this can either be positive, negative, or both. Depending on what planets and aspects you have in your own natal chart.
Take note that the nodal axis is at 18 degrees of Pisces (North Node) and 18 degrees of Virgo (South Node). So if you have any placements in the above mentioned signs at 15 to 21 degrees, this will also be extremely important.
What did you do during the previous new moon in Virgo?
It’s also important to think about what you started back from 22nd August 2025 during the Virgo New Moon. Especially topics related to the house Virgo rules over in your own natal chart. You’re again starting something new, whether it’s learning how to be more discerning about things in your life and habits. Or about routines that you have kickstarted but neglected after a while.
While it was previously happening at 0 degrees, a very new and fresh way of expressing Virgo energy, it’s now at 29 degrees. A critical degree before going into the next sign of Libra.

What is a solar eclipse?
In astrological terms, a solar eclipse is when a new moon occurs on or near the nodal axis. On a simpler note, it’s when the moon passes between the Sun and Earth. The moon blocks the Sun rays, thus being a solar eclipse when viewed from Earth.
Virgo
Mutable earth. Ruled by Mercury. Both exalted and domicile here in Virgo. Humble and social. Organised and reliable. Analytical. May be prone to obsessing over details. Likes ‘fixing’ things even if it’s not recognised, as long as they themselves know ‘I fixed that’.
Virgo Moon
May analyse one’s emotions. Still an earth sign, generally composed and understands the full story before acting out. Even when they do act out, it’s not as explosive or as emotional as the Fire and Water signs. But rather more passive-aggressive.
They function best when things are orderly and organised. May have a tendency to want to control things, but that is just so that things around them remain organised or become ‘fixed’. They like to help others, to be of service to them, but may struggle with knowing when to help and when not to help.
Solar Eclipse (New Moon) in Virgo
While it’s just a partial solar eclipse, it is more energetic and intense than just a new moon since the nodal axes are involved. Speaking of karmic and fated situations happening. Not only that, but being at 29 degrees, it’s going to be related to certain crisis or important decisions that we are forced to make.
With the south node in Virgo, north node in Pisces, we’ve been doing something that we shouldn’t be doing or have already done before and need to move out of. This could be giving ourselves up for the good or service towards others, being too self-critical and lacking the self-confidence to step up towards greater paths, analysing too much about the little things that we’re not moving forward, being stuck in what’s known and working (or not working) instead of jumping into unchartered territories.
It’s about losing control over certain things in order to evolve or grow towards our higher selves.
In Virgo, it’s going to speak about a few things. There will be a change in one of these areas, or requiring us to adapt towards something better. It’s like already having done it, especially from 22nd August 2025, and now we’re giving it one last push/lesson before we go on to bigger things. Something that is fated to end so that you can start fresh and anew.
Solar Eclipse in Virgo Opposite Saturn/Neptune Conjunction
This speaks of a balance needed between our identity, our subconscious, lessons we’re more unwilling to face, and our daily routines/habits. It’s like knowing we have to partake in life’s daily activities, but intuitively we know we’re supposed to be doing something else. This balance requires you to partake in both. Not leaning too much into either, best if you’re able to incorporate both areas of your life together.
If you find yourself too caught up in daily routines, take some time to be by yourself. Best if you’re meditating or engaging in something spiritual or even being in nature. On the other hand if you’re too caught up isolating yourself, connecting with your subconscious or enjoying your peace too much, you have to start making small steps towards being in the process of life itself, with the mundane activities.
Emphasis on North Node in Pisces
Also, while that balance is important, the north node being in pisces speaks a lot more than the south node in virgo, especially if we want to progress further. This may result in us taking a step back before moving two steps forward. To really trust that whatever is meant for us, will work out for us even if it doesn’t look like it right now, or after a certain action/decision that we make.
Kite Formation
This opposition is also making a kite formation with Uranus retrograde in Gemini and Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. We’re spoken about this in our previous posts of Saturn/Neptune conjunction, Neptune retrograde and Saturn retrograde.
Mutual Reception of Mercury in Libra and Venus in Virgo
Note that Venus is also currently in the sign of Virgo, in its fall placement. But ruler of this solar eclipse in Virgo, Mercury is in the sign of Libra. There is a mutual reception happening. Our relationship with others, spouse or 1-1 dynamics as well as finances, inner values and our daily routines, health, habits, pets are also being put to the forefront.
We may be re-evaluating how we have been expressing these energies, a period of introspection which will then translate into understanding why things are the way they are.
One Way It Could Show Up In Your Life
It could also relate to your spouse, others, people we’re close to or are able to relate to on a more personal level, being able to help us discern certain things in our lives. Making us aware of what we need to let go in order to grow and start anew. It will help a lot by communicating with others you trust, who understand your nature or are aware of your daily life.
While Venus is considered to be in its fall here, it’s just transitory. Speaking of a period where our finances or inner values being more negative. This could be us feeling inadequate to do what we really want to do, or a need to over compensate in order to feel prepared. If you find yourself moving into that headspace, be aware and know that nothing will be perfect, you just have to take that one step ahead first.
Another Way It Could Show Up..
This could also speak about a period where our interpersonal relationships are not at its best, requiring an understanding communication between one another. This could be because of individual finances, the routines or daily habits of oneself or the other, as well as taking care of one’s health. It’s making a square aspect to Uranus, so there needs to be a change with regards to how you think or what you believe in, in order to achieve harmony.
Main Takeaway: Be Prepared To Make A Big Decision
This decision is important as it’s trying to push you out of your comfort zone so that you can grow. Do not be stuck with what you’re used to and be ready for change. If still stuck in your old ways, there could be a crisis relating to whichever house you have virgo in, that will force you to release control because you have no other choice. To minimise or even circumvent it, embrace any change that presents itself or listen to an inner knowing of it being the right way to go about it. If the change doesn’t happen now, it will be harder later on.
