Mars has entered Capricorn from 16 December 2025 to 23 January 2026.
Why is this important to note?
When you combine the two, mars is going to enable you to push through any boundaries with great effect. Mars is considered exalted in Capricorn, a very good sign to be in. Any action you take however difficult or however much energy it requires won’t feel as tough during this period. You’ll have the capacity to overcome it and actually produce results.
Especially if it requires doing work that brings you towards higher goals/achievements. Structural action that brings you from level 1 to level 10 so to speak. Take this time to focus on what you really want to achieve, and do it. You may be amazed by your own achievements during this period. As well as how much work you have actually put in.
It is however, combust by the sun in Sagittarius, which is also affecting Venus in Sagittarius. What this means is that while we’re trying to expand our horizons either by traveling, learning or going through new experiences, that particular aspect may overshadow what we really do want to achieve and also affect our relationships with others on both an internal and external basis. It will still be combust when the Sun moves into Capricorn.
But since mars in capricorn is exalted, it’s going to be both positive and negative depending on the choices we make.
Do you want it to be positive or negative?
If you’re trusting the universe, going with the flow and your own intuition, those boundaries or restrictions that seem to block everything in your way will soon be broken down or seen as a redirection towards what you’re supposed to align yourself to. This could be cutting off of old habits and routines, turning the negative into positive.
If you’re fighting against the current, going against natural laws and focusing on your own current circumstances and opinions, you’ll be met with more restrictions that enforce you to take tougher action in order to reach your higher self. This could involve complete severing or cutting off of your old life that you’ve been so focused on sustaining just cause it was comfortable or what you’re used to.

Mars in Capricorn conjunct Venus and Sun in Capricorn, Sextile North Node in Pisces, Trine South Node in Virgo
This is a very potent time to focus on what you want to achieve in a societal context as well as any goals you have in your own life to reach your higher self.
You’ll be able to make use of what is logical, build up on the foundational structures you have in place and move towards further goals or ideals that you have. This could even be about making that foundation stronger so that you’re able to realise and move towards those ideals.
Just remember that the inner values you have, the relationships you form during this period are there to help you grow. Take it as constructive criticism and work on whatever pops up. Of course, use your discernment. If it doesn’t align with your goals, chuck it away and follow your intuition. But if it feels right, to consider what that suggestion was, use it to your advantage instead of being put down by it.
1 January to 15 January 2026
Mars in Capricorn conjunct Venus in Capricorn
We’re going to take action regarding any repressed guilt we have. This could be with our relationships with people or our inner relationship with ourselves. It’s a good time to let go. To talk it out, to process it and speak about what we truly need from the other and within ourselves.
This could also be about what your career goals are or relationships with people at work. It could possibly speak of altercations or confrontations at work. Especially if one or both of you are unable to take criticism well or have been repressing any negative feelings with the other. It is however a good time to talk it out and work through things. In order to form a good understanding between each other for a more harmonious working relationship.
7 January to 14 January 2026
Mars in Capricorn Opposite Jupiter Retrograde in Cancer, Squaring Chiron in Aries
This is a period where we need to balance the energies of our external pursuits with what is going on not only internally regarding our emotional needs, but also on a home and family basis.
Yes, we have the energy to really pursue what we want to pursue in the external world. But is it aligned with what you need to feel emotionally secure? Is it taking away time from your familial duties? This balance is further amplified with Chiron being in Aries making a square. Our own individuality, our own sense of self, how we want to take action, we may feel that we are losing our own sense of self. We may want to further enforce it by pursuing external achievements in order to feel like we are actually doing something about our lives.
On the other hand, we may also go into a deep retreat and discovery about what we need in our lives in order to feel emotionally secure, so much so that we disregard our careers or what we need to do on an external basis. This dilemma requires all of us to balance it out well.
16 January to 25 January 2026
Mars in Capricorn sextile Saturn in Pisces
This is going to be the last push that we have to set things right if it hasn’t before. We were given opportunities to work on long term goals and address any conflicts within ourselves and with others. This period, we are going to be able to work on it on a more positive note.
Those who have worked it out previously will be shown positive results during this period, whereas if it wasn’t addressed before, this is another time to address it.
It’s as if the ‘universe’ is showing you in your face what you need to work on, what you need to take action towards and what you must either cut off or face head on in order to progress towards your own individual higher ideals and path in life.
Evolutionarily – Balsamic Mars-Pluto
On an evolutionary note, Mars in Capricorn is in a balsamic phase with Pluto in Aquarius. This transit is helping us tie up loose ends. To complete a cycle before we start a very important cycle in our lives, especially wherever you have Aquarius at. These will relate to separating desires from your soul, in order to align towards your own evolutionary growth towards uniting with Source.
We’ll speak more on this at a later date, just remember that whatever you’re working upon on a long term basis and also losing, releasing, getting rid of, is meant to help you grow towards this new phase of your life. Look to where you have Aquarius in as that house and the topics it govern will be extremely important.
Use this time well, release anything that isn’t serving your highest good or preventing any further growth. It’s to prepare you for a new Aquarian cycle in your life.
