Often referred to in Astrology as the Big 3, knowing what your Big 3 signs are in Astrology, makes for a good stepping stone to not only understanding yourself better, but also the impact it plays on all other areas in your life. Sun – Your basic will. Moon – Emotions/Physical Body. Rising/Ascendant – Your aura/vibe you give off to others as well as how you’ll navigate through life.

After knowing and understanding what your signs are, look to the aspects each of them are making with one another. Some of us could feel like we do not resonate well with our sun, moon or rising at all. This will be due to the harsh aspects it makes with each other, as well as other planets/points. Others could feel that they have no trouble expressing themselves, in fact they know who they are and how they work. This will be due to the good aspects it makes with one another.

Harsh Aspects

Opposition – If you have them placed opposite (180 degrees), you may find it innately challenging. However, if you are able to balance both energies well, it actually makes for a rather harmonious aspect.

Square – If you have them placed 3 signs away (90 degrees), there will be an internal conflict. One might want to express itself a certain way and the other, a whole different way. Knowing how to balance or work with these two signs is neccessary. The good thing is that they will be in the same modality, but definitely of a different element.

Good Aspects

Trine – If you have them placed 4 houses (120 degrees) away, you are going to identify strongly with the element that the signs are in. It’s a very harmonious aspect and innately, you are able to express yourself very well and have no internal struggle.

Sextile – If you have them placed 2 houses (60 degrees) away, it’s considered a good aspect, with a blend of two different modalities and elements. It’s almost as if there’s a balance within yourself, with the two different signs.

Powerful Aspect

Conjunction – One of the most powerful aspect, if you have them placed in the same sign, you could resonate very well with that sign innately. Especially for sun, moon and rising, there is a clarity on your emotions and soul. The way you approach your life will also be in alignment. There are other factors to consider, if two are conjunct and one is squaring, you might feel more in tune with the sign that has two planets, but also depending on which house it’s placed in.

While these are just basic interpretations especially from the standpoint of the rising sign, the aspects can be in any house where the sun and moon are in relation to one another and also the rising.
