I’ve often been asked what propelled me to really start doing astrology as a career. While the breadcrumbs were of being exposed since young and realisation of ‘life after death’ with the passing of my pet, the main cataclysmic event was really this, an unplanned kundalini awakening. Without this happening, my unconscious soul would not have pushed so far into my consciousness, making a change in my physical reality.
It was not until I was travelling for a while, where somehow my brain was not ‘braining’ for a whole month, just living by the beach. Literally a clear mind. Not nitpicking on anything or trying to think of ways to develop in any form. Not thinking about anything at all but just, being. That state of ‘being’ was very new.
Fyi, my Mercury is in Virgo, exactly trine my Saturn Retrograde in Capricorn. My mind is always on overdrive, thinking about further development, reflecting on the daily conversations and actions. But there and then, my brain wasn’t doing that. I was just, living and breathing. There and then, I felt something beyond reason or logic.
Unplanned Kundalini Awakening
I did not know what it was, only that it lasted for 2-3 hours. I resisted for about 30 minutes and realised it wasn’t going to go away and just stayed with it. It first started when I initially felt a surge going up from my lower spine, to my neck. It seemed as though the spine had a nerve of its own and something was moving up. Realised I should lie down and so I walked back to my house. Legs were heavy. Every step I took felt as though there was some magnet on the bottom of my feet to the ground. I was still able to move but that magnet effect felt very weird/new.
Eyes couldn’t be opened fully. Upon lying down I could feel waves going from the left to right to left of my body. Constant waves. I could feel my mind pulsating. Breathing was ‘slow’ and I had to do fast deep breaths every second. There was an inner knowing that I wasn’t going to ‘pass’. Somehow I knew it was a process of something. So all I did was focus on breathing, or rather that was all I could actually do. I didn’t know what it was then, until about 1 year later when I found out it was termed kundalini awakening.
What is a Kundalini Awakening?
For those that are interested, kundalini awakening is the activation of dormant energies within you. Myth has it that it’s two coiled serpents rising up towards your crown chakra. It unblocks the different chakra points in your body, enabling you to truly connect with the energies of the Universe, to understand your own soul depth and what you came here to do, or awaken gifts that you were born with but didn’t tap into.
It could often be guided by a spiritual teacher, or through a devout practice of conscious spirituality, or in my case, unplanned. To note, at this point in time I was neither practising astrology or fully dedicated to it, nor was I involved in any spiritual activities/practises or exposed to any of that sort.
Fun fact, astrology was just a hobby, a life tool up to that point, and then realising my 5th house is Pisces, with Jupiter in the 9th exalted in Cancer. 5th being hobby/pleasure/things you do for fun, 9th being higher learning/astrology/overseas, Jupiter being the expansion of things, knowledge, intuition. Jupiter sextile Mars (activation, action), Moon (ruler of Cancer) in my 1st house (self).
Is the link of everything that I mentioned earlier not evident enough? Or is it still what skeptics call it ‘pseudoscience’?
After that, a lot of things changed, gradually. Mental perspective, more alignment, physical awareness. Things that didn’t align with my purpose fell away or were removed somehow. There seems to be a more profound experience in the waking world and in my dreams. I see the colours of leaves on trees as if they are brighter, especially when the sun shines on them. Or at least I look at them more, almost in awe. I’m more aware of insects that I come across, crickets, butterflies, dragonflies, grasshoppers. Seeing feathers, big and small, white/grey and even coloured, like those of a peacock, surprisingly at a residential estate.
Awareness
More aware of stray animals that just waltz into my house when overseas, or even just laying beside me when I’m having a meal. Paying a lot more attention to dreams and what they mean, the symbols, animals and scenarios that occur. Understanding that the energies/vibes I get from going to places or meeting people, are valid and have a meaning behind it. Recognising synchronicities in not just numbers but life and universal laws, realising the universe has a very funny way of showing you things.
Also, when I sleep and barely wake up, between the waking and dream world, that limbo, seeing colours and objects that are constantly moving, appearing in the foreground then moving into the background, replaced by new ones in the foreground, constantly. At this point in time I can’t decipher what it exactly is, but maybe with time.
After Awakening
2-3 months after that awakening, I dived a lot deeper into astrology, to really study my own chart and life for further guidance. I’ve always used it as a tool in my life, but now it’s truly finding out what life has in store for me. Finding out about traditional astrology and its techniques and found everything I now have come to know and started my own practice.
Through that, I have also found out about authors, psychologists, philosophers like Carl Jung, Sigmund Freud, Friedrich Nietzche and more. Even deeper than that, of materials that can be considered controversial. Some of which, knowledge and materials seemed to be reserved for reasons of their own. Maybe for the initiated and conscious because the materials in there could trigger even the conscious, let alone the unconscious.
Philosophical Teachings
Understanding true words from philosophers that I once couldn’t comprehend. The separation of the self from the created ego in this life. Listening to the unconscious voice within myself. Knowing which voices were of my physical mental self, and which were of my soul. Certain inner knowings about spiritual truths and falsities. Recognizing fake enlightened beings and authentic spiritual individuals.
Heading Into The Abyss
About paths that light up in front of me. Albeit still into the dark, the unknown, the abyss, it seems as though there are stones leading up to somewhere, and I just have to follow that path, stone by stone, step by step. Surrendering to situations or opportunities or events, rather than trying to control it. Living in the now, than the past or the future.
When In Phangan
Every time I’m back at Phangan, I meet so many people that have woken up from the unconscious. Some who have just started on this path, while others who have been on the path for a while. Medicinal Healers, Zen Masters, Yoga Practitioners, Holistic Coaches, Sound Healing Therapists, Reiki Masters and more.
Sound healing and reiki by the beach, some choosing not to have smart phones, not wearing any footwear to ground constantly, of conscious behavior, auras unlike any city folk, just at peace.
The conversational topics with them aren’t about what we’re eating for lunch, what house are we going to live in, in the future, material obsessions or of daily sustenance and routines. It’s about reaching higher states of consciousness, vibrational levels, exploring different types of spirituality and teachings, lineage paths, ancestral gifts, non-physical experiences and most importantly of energies, that are all around us.
Spiritual Exploration
Since then, I’ve been dabbling in various forms of spirituality, meditation and working with my own chakras. And of course, learning about all the different schools of thought for astrology, traditional, modern, evolutionary and more. In astrology and how it can help even the unconscious, resonates on a right frequency for my soul, using that to help others realise their own unique path in life, just feels right.
Soul Level Evolutionary Context
On a soul level evolutionary context, my soul craves isolation from the world (Pluto in the 12th in Scorpio), to live on an island, by the beach and just existing, but I’m supposed to be of service to society (Pluto Polarity Point of 6th in Taurus speaking of also self-sufficiency), to spread the knowledge of things beyond what’s more commonly known (Aquarius North Node), and help others realise their inner security/gifts and take charge of their own unique path in their life (Aquarius NN in 4th).
Guiding others towards the right path their soul came here to learn lessons of. To not compare oneself with others who might appear to be ‘doing better’ than themselves. To not chase societal values of success but to truly focus on oneself and realising one’s inner shadow work.
Veil Of Unconsciousness
All I can say for now to all, is to remember that we’re covered with a veil. This veil is what is making and keeping us ‘unconscious’. While it has lifted for some, the collective belief of physical reality needs to at least be tweaked, if not unveiled, for society to move forward, towards a ‘New Earth’. Pluto in Aquarius for the next 20 years will speak a lot about things surfacing that were once kept hidden from the public, even if it’s in plain sight. Things that some know of, beyond Earth, will surface and make appearances.
‘As above, so below.’
On Earth, there will be certain unveilings, but also beyond that, and in our individual lives. The truth will prevail and those stuck in disillusionment or lower vibrational levels of the Ego, will have trouble adapting and remain here, on this dense plane.
Learn to detach from the consensus or what you know isn’t right for you on a personal level. Even though society deems something right, it doesn’t mean it is. Societal constructs are there to keep you within the parameters of control in the matrix. Learn who you are apart from anyone else, as an individual first. Learn about your soul and what your soul needs or came here to learn about. Understand and question life, especially of what happens beyond the physical upon death. There is so much more to life than what we know it to be. The next 20 years will shape it and force you to question it, if you’re not already questioning.
