The Aries Solar Eclipse (new moon) will happen on 29 March 2025, 6:58pm, Singapore time. We recently had the Blood Moon, a lunar eclipse. The difference now is that the moon is between the Sun and Earth, instead of Earth being between the Moon and the Sun.

New moons are typically symbolising fresh starts and new beginnings, start of transformative events and major shifts.

What does a solar eclipse represent in astrology?

A solar eclipse is when the moon is between the Sun and the Earth. What is going to happen on the 29th of March is a partial solar eclipse. The occurrence of eclipses aren’t very common, with the next one only happening in September. It’s going to dampen certain energies before a surge or charge of it. This is different from a lunar eclipse where we were clearing out the clutter and removing things from our lives. It’s now the opposite where things have been removed and we are going to start new cycles.

What to take note of for this solar eclipse in Aries?

Inner Fire

There’s an ignition (or reignition) of a fire within us regarding what we individually stand for. This could be at the expense of others where we’re focusing on our own needs, our own sense of identity in this world and our path towards our own life. This activates what might have previously been lost or subdued. While yes we are pushed towards initiation for our own good, it may still be impulsive with little to no consideration of the outcome. Ensure sufficient thought has been put in place before acting on your impulses.

A Cut Off

There could be a certain loss or losing of something in order for this cycle to start. While initially difficult, it’s necessary in order for you to reach greater heights, your higher self. This cut off will replace certain comfort that you’ve been confined to, that has been restricting further growth.

Energy Burst

There will be a period where you find yourself full of energy, wanting to do everything fast and efficiently. But after that burst, your interest in what you initially started will fade and you may never finish it. Control that energy as best as you can, keep a certain momentum going and not unleash it all at once. Even if it means doing things behind the scenes first and then releasing it slowly on a schedule.

Why is this solar eclipse in Aries so important?

The last time we had a solar eclipse in Aries/Libra was in April 2023. This current solar eclipse will mark an end to that previous cycle. Look back on what happened then till now. This could relate to your own identity, your sense of being, you taking charge of your own life or taking more initiative towards things you want to do. Or even about relationships and how you relate to others, whether it was helping you or bringing you down. Whatever cycle that you went through from April 2023 till now, will have taught you what you need to know, in order to start this new cycle from 29 March 2025 onwards. The house which you have Aries in will speak more about what that cycle was, specifically from 20 April 2023.

Whichever house you have Aries in, is going to be very ‘busy’. A lot of changes, new beginnings and shedding of old structures. It’s also important to note that with the eclipse happening in Aries, the ruler of Aries, Mars should be taken into consideration.

Aries Rising

The eclipse is happening in your 1st house, sparking a new way of approaching your life and your relationship with others or your spouse, especially with 2 retrograde planets in your 12th house. You’re finally digging deeper within yourself to figure out what it is that you want and what you want from others/spouse. Then taking action towards ensuring your actions, your way of life, your approach to things, the way you present yourself, are all reflecting and present in your external surroundings. This could allow for shedding of old beliefs or old ways of doing things, affecting all areas of your life.

Your chart ruler, Mars is still in the 4th house of Cancer but will move into Leo on 19 April, opposite Pluto in Aquarius. This could further speak about releasing old ways of doing things at home or with your parents or with your inner emotional security. Taking action to address these topics may still make you unsure of which route to take. Allow yourself time to sit with it and try new routes if needed, even if they may not necessarily be as effective as you want them to be. Changes may be more evident from the 19th of April.

Taurus Rising

The eclipse is happening in your 12th house, where you’re now having an inner knowing or more of a connection with your subconscious. It may feel very new if you were never aware of the non-material realm. While you are typically more grounded preferring to do things yourself or your way, this period may bring up certain emotions that were hidden and are now coming to light, forcing you to address them. May also ignite a certain spark on things you didn’t want to address regarding siblings, your beliefs or the way you communicate.

Your chart Ruler, Venus is still retrograde in Pisces but will station direct on the 14th of April, up until 30th of April. Take this time to connect with friends or loved ones and be more easy going or accepting. Learn and relate to others in a more compassionate way, not nitpicking.
