2nd House of Wealth
The 2nd (second) house in astrology is the house of wealth. Your livelihood, lifestyle, possessions and finances. Planets in the 2nd house, the sign, the ruler and position of the ruler will be able to tell you more about:

Succedent House
The 2nd house is a succedent house, second in terms of strength in one’s chart, compared to the angular houses. Opposite to the 8th house of loss/death, union with another, spouse’s finances, the 2nd house is of your own values and stability.
The 2nd house is closely associated with the 6th and 10th houses of daily routines and career. It’s making a trine aspect thus the need to look at all 3 houses for one’s ideal career.
Least Negative House
Averse to the first house of self, it’s traditionally considered a negative house. It is however, least negative when compared to the 6th, 8th and 12th houses. According to Valens (Vettius Valens, 2nd-century Hellenistic astrologer), benefics (Jupiter and Venus) do no good here. Jupiter here will cause expenditure of resources until nothing is left. If Venus is here and lord of the ascendant or Lot of Fortune, public, disreputable occupations.
While many in society deem accumulation of material wealth to be a measure of success, if your birth chart indicates otherwise, striving towards that path would only steer you farther away from the truth of your soul’s existence.
