What’s Astrodice?

AstroDice are 12 sided dice that usually come in a set of 3. First die with the 12 zodiacs. Second die with the 10 planets (7 traditional planets plus 3 outer planets) with the north and south node. Third die with the number 1 through 12, representing the twelve different houses in a chart.

Fun Fact: Each side is a pentagon which is also the inside of 5 ‘stars’!

How to use Astrodice?

  1. Ask a question.
  2. Roll the dice.
  3. Numbered die tells you where in which house the topic is affecting.
  4. Zodiac signs die tells you how the topic in question is being expressed.
  5. Planetary die tells you what energy in question is being played out.
  6. Combine all 3 and you have a story. Apply it to your question.

Ask a question and a simple roll of the dice will be able to tell you a story. It’s very similar to Horary Readings where it’s rather mystical and you’re trusting not only in the divine power of what you have rolled, but also in divine timing of when you’re doing an Astrodice reading.

As simple as that, I’ve added a little nuance to it by incorporating it with chakras. If you haven’t read my previous post about The Correlation Of Chakras & Planets, that may give you more information.

Skeptic to Believer

I was skeptical about Astrodice at first, buying it just to ‘play around’. But as I used it for myself, there were some synchronicities about the readings that made me further believe in divine power. It wasn’t just ‘rolling around’ some dice anymore but used only with intention and purpose. Things I wasn’t aware of, were made clearer. Questions or guidances I sought were answered. Situations and circumstances I wanted to know how to deal with were also shown.

How do I use Astrodice?

Each day of the week is ruled by a specific planet.

While each planet rules over a certain chakra.

And each chakra has a certain topic associated with it.

What started out as 3 sets of dice, for my own usage has now become a set of 7, with each set made of a different stone, representing a certain chakra. If you go into more nuances, it’s also a different planetary ruler.

By understanding the topic and knowing what day it is, I decide on which set of dice to use before rolling it. Current transits and even your own natal chart could be applied, but through the readings I’ve done, it seems to be dependent on the question. Best if it’s read as a separate ‘chart’.

What Astrodice do I use?

The dice I use are made of the corresponding gemstones.

Clear Quartz – Crown Chakra, ruling planet Neptune.
Amethyst – Third Eye Chakra, ruling planet the Sun and the Moon.
Lazuli Lapis – Throat Chakra, ruling planet Mercury.
Kambaba – Heart Chakra, ruling planet Venus
Tiger’s Eye – Solar Plexus Chakra, ruling planet Mars (Co-Ruler Pluto)
Red Aventurine – Sacral Chakra, ruling planet Jupiter (Co-Ruler Neptune)
Black Obsidian – Root Chakra, ruling planet Saturn (Co-Rulers Uranus & Pluto)

As if that’s not enough, it’s widely known that each day of the week is also ruled by a different planet. Aligning the day of the week with the specific set of dice proved more effective in astrodice readings I’ve done thus far.

Sunday – Sun’s Day
Monday – Moon’s Day
Tuesday – Mars’ Day
Wednesday – Mercury’s Day
Thursday – Jupiter’s Day
Friday – Venus’ Day
Saturday – Saturn’s Day

Fun Fact: Sunday was considered the first day of the week in traditional western calendars, not Monday. That may also be why you see most calendars starting from Sunday instead of Monday.

With all the above information, I now have 7 different sets of astrodice that will not only be used for my personal discovery of my own chakras, but also to create short videos about any questions you may have on social media. I may offer professional astrodice readings in future if requested, since it’s short and sweet and doesn’t require your birth details. But until then keep a lookout for my socials on the individual chakra astrodice readings and ask if you would like a question of your own answered!
