A natal chart reading is when an astrologer analyzes your birth chart and brings you through each aspect of your life. This birth chart is basically a map of your life, using details of your date of birth, time of birth and location/country of birth, showing where the planets are the moment you were born. All the different planets represent a certain influence they have on you and your life, which is also dependant on which ‘house’ they are located in.
Although astrologers should be able to calculate the individual positions of the planets in your chart, the mathematical approach is time consuming. It is much faster to generate it automatically with the use of a software or a website, and the results will be the same.
They will then start to analyze your chart and make important notes. Different astrologers have a different way of approaching a chart. Some use a point based system for the planets while others dive right in.
What does the birth chart show?
What you should know is that the birth chart contains 12 different aspects of life. While the modern astrologers tie each house with a zodiac sign, the traditional approach that Astrologylar practices is different.

These are the basic interpretations of the houses and depending on what planets are located in which house, it can tell you a lot about events that are going to occur in one’s life or one’s approach to things.

- Moon
- Mercury
- Venus
- Mars
- Jupiter
- Saturn
- Uranus
- Neptune
- Pluto
Although planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are considered outer planets, and used more in modern astrology, we do include them in a reading though with less emphasis on them.
In addition to the planets, we also dive into the lunar nodes, the North and South nodes. These will show one’s karmic path in this life as well as what one has already done in the past.
As always, it is best to consult a professional astrologer to interpret your chart for you as not all placements are good, neither will all of them be bad.
