The first Mercury Retrograde of 2025, with another 2 more happening in July and November. Mercury is going retrograde in Aries, transiting back into Pisces on the 30th of March 2025, and only stationing direct on the 7th of April 2025 in Pisces, a sign considered to be its detriment.
What does Mercury symbolise?
Mercury, the planet that represents communication, our thoughts, all things literary (writing and reading). It’s of our beliefs, the way we exchange information with others. Health wise, it relates to the nerves in our body.
Our natal mercury shows how we often communicate with others, how our brains think before translating them into action and how we prefer to absorb or process information.
Mercury in Aries
Positively, our thoughts are transforming the way we want to express ourselves, doing things for the sake of our own self instead of others. We will be taking more action towards things that we desire, initiating changes instead of wanting harmony and balance in every way. Taking charge and not sitting back passively.
Negatively, thinking only for oneself, communicating one’s own needs disregarding any other opinions and heated exchanges with others as we try to prove our own point.
Mercury Retrograde in Aries
Certain events or information will come up that will make us regress and retreat into our inner self. Reflecting on our thoughts, our ideas and our communication with others. As much as we want to focus on our own needs, we will be forced to take a step back and reevaluate our thoughts. Impulsive decisions without much analysis will prove negative and be met with certain blocks or delays.
What to take note of?
It’s not a time to be signing new contracts. Any emails you’re sending or documents, make sure to double check, and do it properly.
Communicate effectively and not based on your current emotional state, especially if triggered. You may be fired up easily, wanting to get your point across. But the way you communicate may not necessarily be right for the situation or you may not be able to effectively communicate your view across well. This will only backfire and cause certain rifts between you and your relationships with others.
Reflect. Reflect on your current situation. Develop certain plans in place that you want to achieve with proper steps. Don’t dive head in.
Timeframe of Mercury Retrograde
14 March to 29 March – A time to go inward, take a step back and reflect on your patterns of communication and thought process.
30 March to 6 April – After an inward reflection, there will be many ideas on what to do. All, if not most, of which may not be useful/helpful.
7 April to 15 April – Slowly gaining clarity although your mind is still scattered.
16 April onwards when in Aries, you’ll finally be able to think and communicate better, although maybe more for just yourself.
